Do not support forks of OpenGroupware.org!

Given the tremendous success of the OGo project some commercial companies try to make profit by reselling OpenGroupware.org. The OpenGroupware.org project does not consider that a bad thing as long as those companies contribute to OGo in some way and give something back.

We consider those companies worst which fork OGo source code into an own product, add local bug fixes and enhancements, but don't give back the improvements to the OpenGroupware.org project as proper patches.

We urge you: do not to support this practice!

Always remember: such companies are only able to place cheaper offers than OGo supporters because they don't give back and rely on the community and sponsors to pay for the project! Those companies sell the work and investments of others!

Our Sponsors

Developing, maintaining and hosting OpenGroupware.org is expensive and needs to be paid for. For a list of companies which actively sponsor our project, please check our sponsor list.
We recommend that you buy products or services from our sponsors, so that they can sponsor us even more! ;-)

SKYRIX Software AG

The top sponsor paying for most of the activity around OpenGroupware.org is still SKYRIX Software AG. So if you consider buying support, maintenance or a distribution we strongly suggest contacting SKYRIX first.

Besides the huge ongoing support by SKYRIX, it should also be remembered that the company is the initiator of the project and completely paid the development of the whole groupware suite (which is 90% of the work that needs to be done for a plagiarism)!

The SKYRiX 5 distribution and maintenance products are currently the only products which actively give back patches and enhancements to the OpenGroupware.org project and therefore keep it live and maintained.

Examples on what SKYRIX pays for:

  • Bug Fixes & Enhancements
  • Maintenance
  • Server farm administration and hosting
  • Apperances on events like LinuxTag
  • Documentation
  • Project management and communication
