OpenGroupware.org is build upon a solid and powerful architecture. To host its groupware daemons it uses the fast and scalable SOPE application server. Groupware functionality is encapsulated in objects in the Logic and DocumentAPI layers. A clear separation between the various interfaces and the actual implementation is in place. The same code base is used by all the different daemons whatever protocol they serve.
