SOPE 4.3.9 is now available, including packages for Debian Sid and
Sarge, as well as RPMs for Mandrake, Fedora Core 2 and various SuSE releases
(8.2, 9.1, 9.2 and SLES 9).
The two major new features are that SOPE now has a configure script which
allows for compilation without GNUstep.sh being sourced in the environment,
and that the iCalSaxDriver was removed in favor of the versitSaxDriver,
initially written by Max Berger and improved by ZNeK. Due to this we could
finally remove the dependency on the dreaded libical.
Besides that, ZNeK cleaned up the string escaping code in NGExtensions and
made it Unicode safe. Further, the IMAP4 client library was enhanced to
properly support body structure fetches, the SoObject subproject got a new
invocation class (SoActionInvocation) for invoking WODirectAction based
SoMethods from product.plist and finally the WebDAV layer received a lot of
fixes and cleanups.
We encourage you to check out the new SOPE RPMs and
report bugs
to guarantee an awesome SOPE 4.4 release!
